The company I work for (Reed Group) has a website - www.mdguidelines.com - and it is related to medical disability durations. There is an individual who is posting job listings with the key word "mdguideline, inc.", “MD-Guidelines Inc.” and a job listing for a "Data Entry / Medical Biller" on various websites across North America. Applicants who respond are told they have been accepted for the position over an Instant Messenger conversation on Yahoo. The “employer” then requests the applicant to send money via Western Union for software they will need for their new job. The applicant sends the money and they never see anything for it. In some cases the “employer” then follows up with more requests for Western Union transfers of money for additional work related items including a laptop, time-card software, etc.
When looking up “MDguideline” on the internet, the applicant will see our website and company and they are filing complaints and requesting refunds from Reed Group. All of the victims have posted their resumes online and this is how they are being targeted. FindJobUSA.com: In 99,9% cases employer would never ask an applicant to pay any funds upfront. You should ask for company's physical address, check all information about the company, try to meet personally with company's representative in company's office (no Internet messenger or cafe behind the corner) and only then make an informal decision. They operate as a construction company in Scotland, Middle East and now elsewhere. They search recruitment agency websites a if they are employers looking to recruit.
Thank the Good Lord that I did not send any money because I queried why I had to pay consultancy fees and they never responded. But when I emailed them again to say that I had the cash they very quickly sent me a email asking me to send the money via Western Union Transfer to an address in the U.K which I did not. Some people will fall for this as the unemployment rate is high and people are desperate for work. I can send you the emails that I received from them if this will warn other desperate people out there that are looking for work.
